課程概述

這門課程將透過語言學、比較民族誌,以及體質人類學等方面的相關線索與考古資料做統整,探討各個地區的殖民、發展,以及適應過程,來探究整個大洋洲的史前史:其技術、經濟、政治制度與社會階級,以及宗教信仰等方面的發展都將觸及。目標是透過比較不同性質的大洋洲島嶼社會的發展歷程,來認知此一地區內文化變遷與轉型的模式。

課程目標
1.使學生明白大洋洲史前史的研究發展重要歷程,對照與反思台灣史前史的建構過程
2.使學生理解考古研究的基礎理論與研究方法的優缺點,並能將所習得知研究方法與理論應用到自身正在進行的研究議題之中
3.使學生對於整個大洋洲的人類擴張史的複雜性有基礎概念 
課程要求
1.修課同學必須閱讀指定書籍與參考書目,於上課前之星期一上午十點前繳交閱讀心得(500字以內),且參與課堂討論。
2.每人須選擇五週做3-5分鐘之課堂報告,並將當週所有指定閱讀文章寫成1頁(2-400字)之書面報告,在次週星期一上午十點前繳交。
3.期末報告為5000字以內之正式文獻回顧與反思、或以研究材料做出分析的讀書報告。引用之文獻或圖表不計在頁數內。報告應採Chicago 17th Author-date格式,引用書目必須在文內註明出處及頁數,並附上引用文獻。務請準時繳交,超過期限一天扣5分 (以100分計算)。
4.書面報告若涉及抄襲甚或請人代寫等違背學術倫理的做法,一經查實,無論其他項目成績如何,本課程一律以不及格論處。
5.為尊重周遭的人,上課不可以吃東西,私下聊天,手機必須全程靜音。
6.若有學習障礙,需要特殊幫助,請務必提前告知教師,以便預作安排。
